Our ACC & private surcharges increased on the 1st of May 2018. These surcharge prices are now based on the experience our physio's have. All our physio's are extremely qualified but some have been in the industry for longer and our surcharges reflect that experience. If you have any questions regarding these changes, please do not hesitate to call us on 07 5795601.
What do Sports Physiotherapists do?
Physiotherapy enhances your body's ability to repair and regenerate through manual therapy and soft tissue therapy to relieve pain and stiffness.
Physiotherapists are specifically trained in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries or conditions that lead to pain and discomfort. Our physiotherapy team have a specific focus on active rehabilitation from injury. We assess muscles balances and prescribe specific exercises to restore function so you feel stronger and more flexible.
A sports physiotherapist is a recognised professional who demonstrates advanced competencies in the promotion of safe physical activity participation, provision of advice, and adaptation of rehabilitation and training interventions, for the purposes of preventing injury, restoring optimal function, and contributing to the enhancement of sports performance. Sports physiotherapists also have a role in helping those involved in sport and recreational activity to enhance their performance.
All of our physiotherapists here at Foundation are qualified Sports Physiotherapists and work with active recreational athletes, social and club level sport in the clinic setting, and also attend training sessions where we run physiotherapy clinics. All of our therapists work within sporting organisations to coordinate physiotherapy, injury prevention, rehabilitation and injury surveillance programmes. All physiotherapists complete regular professional development to ensure that we are all equipped with the latest clinical findings in research treatment modalities.
Some of our physiotherapists also work with more elite athletes, working and travelling with individuals and sports teams, integrating their services with other medical professionals, coaches, strength and conditioning personnel and other support staff.
