About Jax...

A little while after finishing my Bachelors of Physiotherapy at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, I moved to South Africa to live with my husband. We lived and worked on a Game Reserve and had the giraffe and Kudu right outside our door. It’s quite different when the traffic on the way to work is a bunch of rhino instead of other cars!

After about a year we decided to make the move to New Zealand. That’s in short how I ended up on this side of the world.

I am very excited and passionate about my profession and I love making treatments fun. It is important to me that everyone is on the same page, understands what we’re working towards and how we’re going to do it. It’s all about communicating and working towards a goal together.

I have worked in a private orthopaedic centre where I helped people rehabilitate after orthopaedic surgeries or other (sports related) injuries in the clinic and in primary care. Other than that, I have worked in several wards in a hospital in the Netherlands and in South Africa.
I am looking forward to working with the inspiring team of Foundation Clinic and to keep learning every single day.

Without many exceptions, you will find me in the gym before or after work and I love to use my husband as guinea pig for fun and new exercises (whether he likes that or not).

My favourite place to be is definitely the Redwoods in Rotorua as I love going out riding with a group of mates, and I like to challenge myself by doing mountain bike Enduro races. If we had adventure bikes, my husband and I would be exploring the on- and off-road sides of NZ on 2 wheels, but all in good time!

I grew up here in the sunny Bay of Plenty.
