Our approach to injury rehabilitation

At Foundation Clinic, we believe that every injury deserves unique and thoughtful treatment. That’s why we’re committed to providing our patients with world-class physiotherapy and injury prevention management.

Assessment and diagnosis
Our passionate and highly experienced physiotherapists will analyse your musculoskeletal conditions and provide an accurate diagnosis to get started.

Treatment plans tailored for optimal recovery
When developing your treatment plan, we consider the location and severity of your injury, the type of sport involved, and your rehabilitation needs to deliver a tailored course of action.

Progressive rehabilitation
Our individualised, hands-on rehab combines proven targeted exercises and techniques that progressively restore function and strength.

Post-surgery rehabilitation
We help athletes recover from surgery following sports injuries, such as ACL and rotator cuff injuries, with our caring and supportive approach.

Physiotherapy is a science-based healthcare profession focused on restoring movement to the body, improving performance, and relieving pain caused by injury, illness, or disability. This is achieved by taking a whole-body, individual approach through exercises, stretches, massages, and other treatments.

Because physio is a case-by-case practice, treatment duration is entirely dependent on the type of injury, level of pain, and your health goals. The patient's response to the treatment and progress will also determine the number of sessions required.

No, a referral is not required to receive treatment. You can visit us directly for a diagnosis and assessment to establish a plan. We can also lodge ACC claims on your behalf directly if required.

Physio plays a key role in enhancing sports performance by improving mobility, strength, and injury prevention strategies.

At Foundation Clinic, we treat a wide range of sports injuries, from sprains, strains, and dislocations to minor fractures, lacerations, and concussions. Our expertise also covers more specific conditions such as lumbar spine stress injuries, wrist sprains, tendon issues, carpal tunnel syndrome, and running-related injuries.

Yes! At Foundation Clinic, we view physio as a journey and believe ongoing care doesn’t just help with pain and movement management but also injury prevention. Physio helps to identify potential issues, weaknesses, and imbalances that could lead to future injuries. By focusing on strengthening these areas, the risk of injury is reduced.

It’s helpful to bring any relevant medical documents to your first appointment, including prior scans or notes from your GP, if necessary. Ensure you’re prepared and can relay all relevant details to your physiotherapist, such as any medications you're currently taking and the timeline of your injury. Always wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes to your appointments.

At Foundation Clinic, costs vary depending on the type of service you receive, whether your appointment is private or through ACC, and the location and level of experience of your qualified physiotherapist.

Across our Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Hamilton, and Taupo sports physio clinics, initial ACC appointments start at $45 and range through to $60, while our private initial appointments are between $80 and $200.
