Sports physiotherapy is the prevention and management of injuries resulting from sport and exercise participation at all ages and levels of ability. Sports Physiotherapy promotes the prescription of physical activity for health and well-being, the prevention, management and rehabilitation of exercise and sports-related injury, and the enhancement of sports performance
A sports physiotherapist is a recognised professional who demonstrates advanced competencies in the promotion of safe physical activity participation, provision of advice, and adaptation of rehabilitation and training interventions, for the purposes of preventing injury, restoring optimal function, and contributing to the enhancement of sports performance. Sports physiotherapists also have a role in helping those involved in sport and recreational activity to enhance their performance.
All of our physiotherapists here at Foundation are qualified Sports Physiotherapists and work with active recreational athletes, social and club level sport in the clinic setting, and also attend training sessions where we run physiotherapy clinics. All of our therapists work within sporting organisations to coordinate physiotherapy, injury prevention, rehabilitation and injury surveillance programmes. All physiotherapists complete regular professional development to ensure that we are all equipped with the latest clinical findings in research treatment modalities.
Some of our physiotherapists also work with more elite athletes, working and travelling with individuals and sports teams, integrating their services with other medical professionals, coaches, strength and conditioning personnel and other support staff.
Our surcharge prices are now based on the experience our physio's have. All our physio's are extremely qualified but some have been in the industry for longer and our surcharges reflect that experience. If you have any questions regarding these changes, please do not hesitate to call us on 07 5795601.
