Meet Chris!
Originally I am from Germany, I moved to New Zealand when I was two years old so I’ve spent the majority of my life here.
What sport do you compete in?
I dabbled in martial arts on and off as a child but I started to really take it seriously at the end of 2019.
Since then I’ve been competing as consistently as possible.
My main focus was on the grappling side
What’s your biggest accomplishment so far?
Achieving over 50 submissions in jiu-jitsu tournaments across New Zealand and most recently Australia.
In 2021 I took gold in ADCC NZ OPEN in the intermediate division,
In 2023 I made bronze in the ADCC AUS open in the Professional Division.
What are your goals in the next few years?
My future goals are to make it past the ADCC trials and one day fight on the largest grappling stage in the world!
I then hope to bring back all the knowledge and training I’ve learned over the years and bring it back to my gym and team at Grappling HQ to see how far I can help my students progress in their own goals.
What do you love about your sport?
I really love the camaraderie and community aspect of the sport no matter where you go in the world there will always be a gym that welcomes you in to train and expand your knowledge, making it easy to meet lots of awesome people and build great relationships along the way.
